Push the locking mechanism.

Your main concerns should be the thickness of your tweezers and how far the broken key is in the lock.
The lock will need to be replaced first.
If the key will not turn in the lock to unlock it then do not force or it will likely snap off in the lock.
If the lock is jammed then the mechanism will not operate whatever you do.
If the handle is unlocked is it turning.

If this is loose the pins could bind trapping the key.
You could also try some lube like tri flow or wd 40 and try turning and or working the key in and out.
Avoid pulling hard which merely binds the key against the lock.
As we implied earlier your key may get stuck inside the lock if say the lock cylinder plug has become loose inside the cylinder.
When a key breaks off in the lock most people go right for the tweezers.
Wd40 a screwdriver needle nosed pliers and a jigsaw blade.
This may contract the metal enough for.
Depending on how much of the key is stuck in the lock you should be able to either pull or rake it out.
Collect together some lock lubricant spray e g.
Locksmiths use narrow barbed tools designed specifically for raking out keys but the blade.

First thing i would do is push in on the plug what the key is in with your finger then try pulling out on the key.
Hold the application straw right above your stuck key aiming it into the hole.

Now wiggle the key up and down not side to side to work it out of the lock.
